To my beloved Dakota,

You came into my life when I was just 19, bringing so much joy and companionship that I will cherish forever. As a border collie/boxer mix, you were a unique spirit, full of energy and love. Our journey together was not without its challenges, particularly your struggles with aggression toward men that began at such a young age. 

Despite my best efforts and the guidance of two positive-only trainers, the road was often discouraging. I wish I had known then what I know now, as I believe with the right tools and understanding, our journey could have been different. But through it all, I did my best to ensure you lived a fulfilling life, and I am proud of the bond we shared.

You have inspired me to dedicate my career to dog training, to help others who face similar challenges. Your memory fuels my passion to equip myself with the knowledge and skills necessary to support dogs and their owners alike. I want every dog to feel understood and every owner to feel empowered.

Dakota, you were more than just a pet; you were my teacher and my inspiration. Thank you for all the lessons you provided and the love you gave so freely. You will always hold a special place in my heart.
